Skiers, Why Not Switch It Up This Season?
Are you looking for a something new to try this winter? Consider snowboarding.
For some, skiing seems daunting enough, and the idea of tackling those same mountains with a snowboard may sound too crazy to even contemplate. But whether you’re a skiing veteran, or you haven’t quite found your stride, snowboarding can be a rewarding way to spend the cold winter days.
If you are a skier who is considering giving snowboarding a go, I offer you this advice; be patient. Because they are similar in ways, but different in others, learning can be a frustrating experience. It is often the case that those with no skiing background pick up the skills quicker - which is encouraging to those who have never picked up a set of skis. Experienced skier or not - all snowboarding beginners are well-advised to at least learn the basics from a professional instructor. Sign up for a lesson or two before hitting the slopes on your own.
Another important point I’d like to make is this – rent your gear. Until you know if it’s the sport for you, there’s no point rushing out and outlaying a fortune, just so you can look like a pro. You’ll also get a feel for the type of board that best suits your riding style.
So, skiiers – why not switch it up this season?
